Candace Adams, Executive Vice President, HSoA, was named to this position in May 2025. In this new capacity, Candace will support the operations of all 32 companies within the HomeServices family, reporting to CEO, Chris Kelly. She is charged with fostering greater collaboration across the network and sharing the lessons and experiences gained in building such an incredible company and culture. Additionally, Candace will continue to serve as Chairperson of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices (BHHS) New England, New York, and Hudson Valley Properties.
As President and Chief Executive Officer of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices New England Properties, New York Properties, and Hudson Valley Properties, Candace was responsible for overseeing the brand's operations and agents across Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, and Rhode Island. Over her 29-year tenure at BHHS, she led the company through significant growth and expansion. Among her key accomplishments was launching the brand's presence in New York City, as well as expanding operations into the Hudson Valley. Under her leadership, the company grew to encompass over 2,600 sales associates across more than 60 offices.
Candace was especially proud of the culture of trust, respect, and inclusion she helped cultivate-an environment that earned the company multiple accolades, including being named the No. 1 top workplace for several years by Hearst Media Services and the Hartford Courant. BHHS was also ranked fourth on Fortune's 2024 list of the World's Most Admired Companies for the twentieth consecutive year.
A highly accomplished and recognized leader in the real estate industry, Candace held a position on the Real Estate Board of New York's (REBNY) Residential Brokerage Board of Directors. This prestigious elected role placed her among the city's foremost residential experts and involved oversight of key organizational policies and committees. She also served on the board of directors of SmartMLS, representing more than 17,000 Connecticut real estate professionals. Prior to that, she had served for ten years on the board of CTMLS before its merger with the Greater Fairfield County listing service.
Candace was named to Swanepoel's Power 200 list of the most powerful people in residential real estate for twelve consecutive years, most recently in 2025. She was recognized as an Inman New York Power Broker in 2025, an honor bestowed on the most influential brokers in the New York City real estate market. She was also twice named to Real Estate Executive Magazine's list of the "100 Most Influential Real Estate Executives" and was recognized annually as a RISMedia Newsmaker since the award's inception in 2019, most recently in February 2024. In September 2022, she was inducted into the RISMedia Newsmaker Hall of Fame in recognition of her enduring contributions to the residential real estate industry. Additionally, she was honored as one of the "Top 25 Women in Business" by the Hartford Business Journal in 2023 and was included in the New Haven Business Journal's 2022 "Power 25" list.
